Do you remember all those people in your Uni that barely squeezed through each semester, cheated and lied their way through, without actually learning anything? You wouldn't want to work with them. Now imagine the same thing happens among healthcare professionals. There was a time when I realized that most people in the world are quite bad at what they're doing, I stopped trusting random doctors then, I try to verify everything myself or get another opinion. As an owner of a fairly health-problematic dog, veterinarians are the worst offenders for me, most people can't tell if something is helping or not, because obviously, the animal won't tell you outright, so they get too much leeway with random drugs and procedures, in worst case pet gets put down and they just shrug "we tried". I pointed out to multiple vets that certain barely-tested drug that they administered caused side effects, wouldn't believe me for the world until I literally pointed out scientific papers proving my point.
