No to mention there was no actual driver in it.
For current performance motors, they each weigh between 100 and 150 pounds. It's very likely the roadster ones will weigh more.
The "gearbox" equivalent is about 200 pounds on modern teslas, and again the roadster will need a beefier one.
So literally just the essentials of motors and wheels and "gearbox" is now at a bare minimum of 600+ pounds. This isn't including the actual frame and structure itself, the battery, the wiring and electronics, and literally the entire vacuum/cold gas system.
I would like anyone to comment how the demo unit could possibly be under 500 pounds "guaranteed".
If you do the math that gets you about 13 seconds of hovering.
If only I had been given fidicuary responsibility for millions of peoples life savings. Then I could build a car that has 0 chance of ever reaching production, just to impress my friends.
Imagination is powerful.
The Apollo program was taxpayer funded. It's priority was to develop and test ICBMs for delivering nuclear weapons, the most destructive thing man has created to date.
The IC's were for the same program.
We went to the moon on a murder mission, so you're right, this is not entirely unlike the Apollo program.
Destruction of the future only requires your passive participation and rosey glassed outlook.
A pox on anyone who does the math which would break those glasses.
