Issue tracking isn't dead. It's moving closer to code.

Gitsu is a fast, AI-native, keyboard-first Mac and web app on top of your existing GitHub Projects and issues. Everything syncs with GitHub in the background.

Gitsu is free on the web. Pro is $4.99/seat/month and adds the native Mac client, advanced AI panels, and MCP agent workflows.

Give gitsu.app a go and write us your suggestions/opinions/bug reports.

Hi HN!

My partner, Indhuja, and I made Gitsu.

With AI and agentic engineering, time spent on tasks like planning, implementation, and code review is shrinking for many teams. And although we all love a modern project tracking tool, the farther it is from code, the bulkier it feels.

That’s why we built Gitsu.app, closer to code.

Gitsu is a fast, keyboard-first Mac and web app on top of your existing GitHub Projects and issues. Everything syncs with GitHub in the background.

MCP-Ready & Agent-Friendly: We built a lightning-fast MCP server. You can let your agents handle your issues, epics, and triage work right alongside you.

Keyboard-First Efficiency: Move cards on a Kanban, update statuses, add milestones, or run massive bulk edits entirely via keyboard shortcuts.

Optimistic by Design: Gitsu caches your board with periodic refresh, making app opening and MCP reads supafast!

Bulk Triage: Multi-select tickets and instantly apply assignees, labels, or milestones without clicking into individual tabs.

Your Data Stays Yours:

GitHub is the source of truth, with no separate ticket database; Gitsu runs on your GitHub Projects and issues.

Pricing: Gitsu is free on the web. Pro is $4.99/seat/month and adds the native Mac client, advanced AI panels, and MCP agent workflows.

We'd love your feedback (bug reports too ). We'll be in the comments all day!

I long for the day I can land on a new site that has a non-AI design language. What is up with everyone using dark theme? Even the dark -> light toggle just flipped the small in-between section areas to light, leaving everything else dark. Did accessibility just go out the window?

The website was only meant to have a dark mode, removing the toggle now. The app has both dark and light modes.

It's deployed. Thanks for noticing.

I took a look at the site—the landing page is actually quite well-designed. I’d also like to add that a project like this could make a lot of sense. Best of luck with it! :)

Thanks for the kind and encouraging words, Klovy! You restore our faith in humanity yet again :)

I see this is cloud only. Is there a plan to allow it to be self-hosted like Plane or Jira?

Your data stays with you, in your GitHub. There is no "cloud" per-se where we host your data. Gitsu is mainly a Mac app, also accessible on the web.

No plans for self-hosting.
