It's just a tiresome thing to keep hearing. For my entire lifetime so far, it seems like there's always been something that will surely melt the brains of children into smooth useless calcified lumps.
Comic books, sex ed, junk food, lazy fiction, plan B, horror movies, pocket calculators, television, rock music, D&D, video games, internet access, chat rooms, search engines: Whatever it is, it's going to destroy a whole generation (or more!) and we must do something about it in order to save the children.
It's like the story about the boy who cried wolf, wherein: So far, the wolf hasn't been real. Each new batch of kids has been different from the last, and with their own challenges, but they broadly still figure out how to get enough done to live a life.
So far, the kids are alright. They've always been alright.
