How are we supposed to keep up with the sheer volume of cool note-worthy tools coming out. This is getting out of hand

1. What is the need to keep up with all of them (sheer volume - your own words)?

2. If you haven't kept up with them (as in, investigated them), how do you know they are cool and noteworthy. Just based on what others say?
