I watched 'Home Alone' the other day. The family there flew to France and the seat space was ridiculous. I was trying to remember the last time I did not feel cramped on the plane and I remembered.. one business class trip and even that was nowhere what was available then by default.
I flew Thai from Europe to Australia last month. The Economy legroom and space was pretty good. I did not feel cramped.
Is it just some EU countries and US?
The scenes were filmed in a mock-up of the first class cabin, not a real plane.
If I recall correctly, the last time I flew United I upgraded my ticket to allow me to choose my seat. Then when it was time to choose, there was another charge, depending on which seat. So double-dipping.
At least they admit the middle seat sucks.
If you phrase it as "the middle seat should be cheaper", it seems more reasonable.
Don’t forget, the middle seat gets to use both armrests. It evens out.
And United just became my least-favorite domestic airline.
