Wix.com blocked account after I transfered .com domain

I paid for a .com domain transfer to wix.com using my bank card. After few weeks I logged to account and noticed that it's blocked. I opened a ticket and they emailed me requesting photos of my bank card and passport (never addressed the reason of block).

I asked why these documents were required and raised concerns about sending sensitive information by email. wix.com replied: "We cannot guarantee the security settings used by every email provider, so please do not send documents unless you are comfortable doing so."

However, they insist these documents are mandatory and refuse to make changes to my account or provide my domain authorization code until the review is complete.

So, I paid for the transfer, my account was blocked, and now I cannot access my domain or obtain its authorization code without sending sensitive documents through a channel wix.com itself admits it cannot guarantee is secure.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Wix? Is this normal practice, and what can I do to regain control of my domain?
