Windows 11 contextual menu takes 2 second to open on a recent PC. Windows surely goes out of its way to make contextual menu a pain to use.
IMO Windows 7 was peak user experience.
Particularly with the Windows Classic theme!

I really hate the new trend to "clean up" UI everywhere which has the effect of not using screen space and forcing you to perform more actions in submenus.
Exactly. You learn very quickly where things are. It just slows everyone down and makes me get lost sometimes cause muscle memory from <win8 still persists.
