Show HN: MandarinClips 180k movie clips for teaching Chinese

I built MandarinClips (https://www.mandarinclips.com) – an audiovisual corpus of 180,000+ real film and drama dialogue clips for Chinese language teachers and learners.

### Why I Built This For language teachers, finding authentic real-world video materials for class is notoriously painful. Textbooks often provide rigid, robotic dialogues (e.g., "你好吗？我很好"), but native speakers use nuanced particles (吧, 呢, 嘛), colloquial phrasing, and messy natural rhythm.

I wanted to give Chinese educators and students an instant way to find authentic audiovisual examples instead of having to manually clip movies or invent artificial example sentences.

### What It Does - 180,000+ segmented Chinese cinema dialogue snippets with aligned subtitles. - Search by specific keywords, grammatical structures, or spoken patterns. - Instantly pull up short 3-10 second clips showing how different native speakers use a phrase across different emotional and situational contexts.

I would love to hear feedback from educators, language enthusiasts, or anyone learning Chinese on HN! What features would make this more useful for your teaching or studying?
