Or: Microsoft has the data already, so why give the data to Anthropic and OpenAI, too?

Microsoft will helpfully house that data in China. The others won't.

AWS and GCP also use local Chinese joint-venture partners to comply with Chinese regulations. Warm greetings to Moscow!

MS don't train your data

MS barely trains on their own data given how shit copilot is even when dealing with MS stuff

That is one of the best assurances that we have these days, that is how bad is the situation.
