Insecure webpages, broken certificates and an insecure PDF library... You shouldn't have anything more connected than an FM radio at this point. Security is no longer something a private individual can deal with.
They can still hack your mind with ads.
Even of that were possible in the abstract, it would also have to be secure when running on hardware. I personally don’t believe that perfect security can exist or that we will reach that ideal of somehow being ahead of the curve. Patches will get better and faster, so will exploits. The stakes will grow. There will always be a human or budget issue.
The only way I see to mitigate the impact is to reduce our reliance on connected systems.
I for one have experienced multiple lifetimes worth of internet madness and will be looking to airgap / disconnect as many devices as I can get away with.
Decade of people's purchases has been invested into safety and security. It's absolutely unthinkable that a $7t market cap company with an army of 200k workers will ever leave people high and dry. They proudly went public, so we know they have the public's interests at heart.
God I hope this is sarcasm.
