Basically Reddit 2018.
Hackernews and Lesswrong (whatever you think of Lesswrong is irrelevant) seem to be free from chuds because they don't really appeal to them. The barrier to entry is too high. You have to care about topics that are boring to most people. Styleforum is like that too. I guess these places do have some moderation, but it seems much less intensive than what is required of reddit.
People seem upset that forums are gone, but if you want sanely/laxly moderated places, a forum seems a good call imo.
Part of the problem here is there are people that think any kind of censorship or moderation is wrong. I will not make any universal statement about the correctness of their position, but I will make a personal statement about their position. "They are fucking crazy".
Now, every once is a while you need a bit of fucking crazy to shock you out of the position you're in and reassess what position you should hold.
I mean, this may have worked a decade or two ago, but if you built modern software this way the same government is going to toss your ass in jail.
"Oh no, I built a murder machine that I can't stop, I guess you can't prosecute me for that, it's out of my control".
You can only get away with that now if you're a billion dollar AI company. Otherwise the judge is going to halt your efforts and prosecute you for contempt and stupidity.
