"The LM style" is nothing more than an amalgam of pre-existing human writing style components.

It's like complaining that humans have begun writing in the same language as Claude's English output.

The idea that LLMs do not have a distinctive style is stupid. And the idea that LLM style is not offputting reflects horrible taste.

I never suggested they don't have a distinctive style. And "offputting" is personal taste; their success demonstrates that it is far from universal.
