One dead LED killed a working TV

Either the led strip is in series and the whole strip goes out, resulting in a huge black strip across your tv screen, or the strip is in parallel resulting in a black or dark spot on your tv.

Bypassing one bad led isn’t a solution. Replacing the faulty strip, or all of them, is the appropriate solution.

The amount of labor to fix a tv is high enough that most people would be happy just to get a new tv and be on with their life.

Meanwhile monitors and I’m sure many TVs specifically have a policy of up to X dead pixels not counting as defective for the sake of returns.
