Would you expect to be detained and deported from those other countries while trying to attend a court hearing to resolve your immigration status?

Yes, if the biggest political issue in that country at the time was would-be immigrants taking advantage of the slow legal process in order to stretch out their illegal stay in the country longer.

Why not speed up the process legally, instead of just kidnapping people who are going to court hearings, in contempt of court?

Why not let the judge say "you shall be immediately deported" and then immediately deport them? Right now they're not even letting the judge issue a decision.

Why not abide by the laws of a host country?

Speed doesn't always mean accuracy either.

You mean the law that says a judge has to order a deportation before a deportation can happen?

The law says you must be in the country lawfully and not through fraudulent terms. That happens before the judge.
