Simply retracting the argument ignores important context.
The Bolsonaros asked the electoral court for extensions and they weren't granted. Lula asked the supreme court for an extension, and it was granted by his former lawyer despite the fact the supreme court shouldn't have authority over electoral matters.
I do believe it is further evidence of the court's bias. Now that Lula has been reelected, he will be able to further stack the court with four additional judges of his choosing. It will only get worse.
The only hope left for this country lies in the senate, which can initiate impeachment of supreme court judges. Lula's party is already moving against them.
Lula's reelection dealt a severe blow to the supreme court impeachment effort, and it dramatically emboldened those judges. Just look at what happened afterwards: order to seize Flávio's passports issued seven minutes after the election and signed off by the supreme court judges, leading to Flávio seeking political asylum in the USA.
