banks have FDIC, magical token storage companies have nothing

Isn't USD a magical token too? Just printed endlessly by the us government.

Bank don't loose USD because it can printed at will the the holding country like they bailed banks in 2008.

it's the magic token you have to use to pay taxes. In the end that is its value.
