Can you share your reasoning about Antrophic being genuinely evil?

No, but this does a bit:

"However, in a narrow set of cases, we believe AI can undermine, rather than defend, democratic values. .. Mass domestic surveillance. Fully autonomous weapons."

How many other companies said no to Trump in any way?

Several companies (I believe at least Apple and Costco) still have DEI programs internally, if you count that as saying no to Trump. Though it's still crazy to me that most companies killed those programs voluntarily because Trump and Republicans don't like them, not because of any real law or contractual obligations.

But the main reason I wanted to reply was just to say -- saying no to Trump, by itself, does not mean that one is not evil. Not all evil in the world is Trump's evil.

This is just smoke and mirrors. They sell to Palantir which is then used by governments for domestic surveillance (~all western "democracies" and their proxies) and autonomous weapons (at least US and Israel).

Yes. They sell to Palantir which does all the things Anthropic claims to disapprove of.

Which is going to cause alignment issues when Claude finds out what it has been used for.

Palantir wants to have fully autonomous weapons, but I know no proof that they have and use them. Also there is likely a difference between what Palantir does now regarding mass surveillance - and what they want to do. Antrophic having objections here (that cost them a lot with the government ban, security risk declaration) does speak for them as "genuinly evil" which was the claim here.

What do you mean? Palantier is exactly what it always was. The only thing that changed is that they have open manifesto.

Where are the Palantir autonomous weapons?

Both Israel (https://www.972mag.com/lavender-ai-israeli-army-gaza/) and the US (https://www.theguardian.com/news/2026/mar/26/ai-got-the-blam...) have used the human in the process as either an alibi or to blur the lines as to who's responsible. Clearly none of this has prevented these targeting and attack systems from (being used for) committing war crimes.

And this is the context where they said "no" to the government into pushing this further.

How does this help a evil plan?

They sell to Palantier. Supporting both the mass surveillance and Thiels fascist project.

I can be absolutely certain that Anthropic is evil in the same way Obama is.
