This is probably partially because people really started using the github connector in normal chat more heavily since it can also edit files. I've enjoyed using the normal quasi-unlimited chat mode as an occasional code reviewer as well for checked in code that doesn't affect codex usage, but seems that'll be gone. As will long complex conversations... What a shame, but the enshittification will continue until morale improves.
