The titled scared the shit out of me. Having just lost Patrick Stewart, I thought "Noooooo....not him too!!"

One of the things I really liked about The Sky at Night (UK TV programme) was they occasionally had Brian May on as a guest.

And Patrick Moore would just refer to him as "Doctor May" and would just talk astronomy, never even referring to the fact he was the guitarist in one of the most famous rock bands in the world.

Did you know of Doctor May's other career when you were watching him on the show?

Makes you wonder how many seemingly nondescript people on shows and podcasts are actually superstars in some unrelated field.

Not exactly non descript but Bruce Dickinson, lead singer of heavy metal band Iron Maiden sidelined as a commercial pilot for a charter airline.

Also an accomplished fencer; the article mentions he's done fairly well in European tournaments!

IIRC he often took part in flying the band's 747, called Ed Force One.

If you ever flew KLM, your pilot might've been the king.

Read his Dr May's thesis: https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-0-387-77706-1

I watched Mad Max 2 recently and didn't realize it was scored by a different BM until after checking IMDb.
