Before I plugged it into the network, it would show a grey bar at the bottom of the screen that said "You can use blah blah feature if you plug the TV into the network". It was voice remote control or something.
After I plugged it in, I start getting notices that certain games are playing, or other nonsense that I don't care about.
The ads were already disabled. I went through great lengths to see if they could be disabled otherwise. I did everything possible.
I finally had to leave it connected to the network, but disallow internet access for it in my router.
So no, it doesn't always work, especially with LG.
Samsung the frame 65" for $2000 constantly pesters about $15 monthly subscription to change the art on the display to their selection of public domain historical artworks. Otherwise you're stuck with the default slideshow, which you're now forced to see since the whole sales pitch of the display is showing art when turned off.
atleast they had the decency to not show ads as default art instead... but i wouldn't put it past them
Go up one comment and you’ll see this was with respect to LG, not Samsung.
