Thanks for leaving a comment rather than just drive by downvoting.

One movie that made me change my perspective on nursing as a field was the Swiss movie Late Shift. It really opened my eyes to what nurses have to deal with. Yes the US might be different in having lower patient to nurse ratios but at the end of the day I think it's still applicable.

There's no way for me to tell you that I am well aware of this without it sounding like some braggadocious detailing of events of my life, so perhaps it will suffice to say that my parents are surgeons and we lived in rural and urban India at various points in our lives.

I still think their monetary compensation should be provided by market valuation of the utility of the work they do.
