> with intent to destroy
If Israel had the intent to destroy the Palestinian people, how is it that ~80% of the buildings in Gaza are damaged or destroyed, yet ~3.5% of the population (including Hamas and other terrorists and collaborators) has been killed? Wouldn't you expect to see a number closer to the amount of the buildings that were damaged or destroyed?
Yes, a lot of civilians have died in Gaza since the war has begun. But this is the result of urban warfare in a highly-dense populated area where the fighters are fighting from civilian areas with civilian clothing.
If Israel didn't evacuate civilians before they bombed, the number of casualties would be much higher. So if Israel's intent would be to increase civilian death, they wouldn't bother doing so -- that would be considered a genocide.
