This part simply isn't true, or at least Before Trump it wasn't true. Snowden leaked in 2013. O think this article isn't a good conspiracy theory.

The Intercept: every single whistle blower who came to The Intercept in the following years was arrested and prosecuted. The most charitable take is they were terrible at protecting their sources. In reality they were likely a government honeypot.

It is absolutely true when you look at the facts. Whistleblowers were HEAVILY prosecuted under Obama. He went after Manning and then Manning was crying to Obama for the pardon; to the man who's justice department literally led the charge for prosecution.

Trump is no different and is equally as corrurpt as those before them. It's a narrative game. Like Orwell predicted, people hate Big Orange even though he's equally corrurpt (not more, not less) than all the others in the Epstein class before him. People have been conditioned to scream at a screen, not for 2 minutes, but 24/7 with hate.

You've just made the same mistake. Under US law (before Trump), journalists who publish classified info aren't prosecuted. As you pointed out, leakers are criminally prosecuted. Bart Gelman has a copy of Snowden's material in "cold storage". He was never prosecuted for having the material, or for publishing it. The article's assertion on prosecuting publishers of leaked material is false.

I won't argue Obama's merits on this issue: he was as bad or worse than GW Bush on punishing leakers. But leaking isn't as severe a crime as others. Reality Winner and Chelsea Manning are already out served their terms. Obama could have taken the civilian oversight boards recommendation on government surveillance and ditched all or most of it but he didn't.
