Except that Xserve had some of the same problems. I managed 10 of them in datacenters, and tens of Mac minis in 2005-2010.
Sell them in units of a rack at a time with super-premium pricing. Fiddly little '4 mac minis in a 2u chassis'-type solutions are a halfway house that no-one actually wants, and are never going to provide the sort of margin that Apple expects.
