Serious doubt. They will use whichever is cheaper, and that's going to be the grid.

Yes. Oleary bought the farm and there will be no farm there anymore. Using the grid would be good for us too. That's economic growth. There will be short term pain but the increased power use will lead to more jobs. We're already building a nuclear power plant.

Right, so no matter what is done with the land it will be using more water than it currently is.

If we weren't building anything here it would still be a farm using a lot of water. Correct.

Except, of course, that farms use unprocessed water for irrigation and datacenters use treated water for cooling. If the project has its own onsite water treatment, and water rights to the aquifer, then that might be fine, but the majority of these projects expect nearby municipal resources at a scale no farm ever has.
