Well, when a lot of crime is committed by repeat offenders it’s going to change how you view these things. If we were a lower crime society things would be different.

Letting the guilty live is mercy without justice. Society is bearing the cost of one who would see the innocent dead. Simply saying “death penalty bad” is cruelty to law abiding members of society, and that will quickly lead to chaos. Sacrificing the good of the whole for the benefit of an ill intended minority.

I’m not saying it’s black and white, but there is a balance to these decisions.
