Show HN: FollowTheseApps - App Changelogs in Your RSS Feed
When we were developing our main project, ForkJoy (https://forkjoy.com) , I noticed that I had downloaded almost every food app in the AppStore. I ended up with 3 folders full of food apps just so I could keep up to date with what the other guys were doing. I never used them, I just wanted to see what changes they were making. Our team's developers had the same problem, so one of them did something about it and made a service that scraped the Android/iOS app stores and put the changelogs into an RSS feed that he subscribed to.
We figured that other people would have the same problem, so we decided to release the product as a service.
We're proud to introduce Follow These Apps (https://followtheseapps.com) . This service is useful for the following niches:
- App development companies
* Following competitors
* Keeping track of internal app releases
* Getting notified when popular apps (ex: Facebook or Twitter) put out new releases
* Keeping track of their favourite apps
* Being notified when certain apps are updated that are not available in their region
