What they do is build a software product aimed at home/small business consumers. AV products can't do nothing to prevent sophisticated malware from being injected in the system through 0-day vulnerabilities. As I understand it the only interest in analyzing this kind of malware is merely for research purposes, maybe trying to find a way to detect similar patterns from various infections so as to try and develop some product for governmental organizations and high-stakes businesses.
