Many (young?) technologists think that technology stands above any kind of politics. They see their work as only bringing benefits to the world. Any bad application or unwanted side-effects should be fixed by applying even more technology.
Maybe you could submit a video of someone doing a dramatic reading of the Patriot Act as a counterpoint.
