Its not a moving target because old versions of office must open documents from new versions.

I've still got Word '97 documents where Writer frags the table formatting...

If you have one that is not private, please log a big along with the document and some sample screenshots of the correct and incorrect displays. Bugs like that tend to get our attention because they're easier to fix :)

I'd really love to, but in both cases where this has happened, the documents are very very private :(

Perhaps you could anonymize the data?
