Running as root? Really?

Its just in the /root home dir, doesn't mean its running as root.

Presumably so it can bind port 80 then shed privileges?

they could use some caching for this site.

http://hyperlooptech.com/careers In the "Engineer - Test & development" position, one of the qualifications is: "Knowledge of database software such as Microsoft Excel" Not sure I want to get on a Hyperloop! =P

Accountants around the world are now going to start calling themselves Database Engineers.

Is it just me or does the logo look very similar to the older MS Visual Studio one?

They're both infinity symbols with almost identical color schemes

Isn't this an Elon Musk venture? I see no mention of him on the website.

As far as I know, he simply came up with the original idea and refined it with his engineers from both SpaceX & Tesla. He 'open sourced' all of it in hopes someone else would try and actually build it (perhaps with his help). I suppose this is the "someone else."

As far as I know, following what you said, and nobody taking interest; Elon decided he would do 'something' which he never disclosed. I am leaning towards actual involvement here:

> Brogan BamBrogan (Interim CEO, CTO, Co-Founder): Prior to Hyperloop, Brogan was an early team member at SpaceX where he saw firsthand the power of a truly bold vision.

Why the all-caps title? It looks like your shouting.

I think it's a design decision, Proxima nova font looks great mostly when all caps

But it can be done in CSS and have Properly Capitalised Text in the HTML.

he probably copy and pasted it from the page.

WHAT?

I thought it was a play on "THIS IS SPARTA!". But copy-pasting seems more like it on second thought.

Interestingly the picture on the website shows a train car with a container and not with people. I wonder if they are focussing on cargo first and people later? It would seem to make things a lot easier in the beginning, since cargo is much less problematic to put into a closed tube for a while.

This is not the real thing I guess.
