AtNightWeCode··on SpaceX to buy Cursor for $60B
$60B. Wow. Congrats to Anysphere. But $60B. That is just a ludicrous price.
AtNightWeCode··on Amazon CEO's talks with U.S. officials triggered crackdown on Anthropic models
WH is lying again of course. Has nothing to do with Amazon or security. Vengeance or trying to help SpaceX. Maybe WH did not like the bad stock price development after the IPO.
AtNightWeCode··on Statement on US government directive to suspend access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5
On the contrary. This is more like a Kaspersky moment for American cloud services. Simply can no longer be trusted for use outside of US.
AtNightWeCode··on Statement on US government directive to suspend access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5
WH really don't like Anthropic. That is what this is about. The people who warned about the risks of using American cloudservices have become right. We should at least in EU see a ban on Azure, GCP, Cloudflare and so on.
AtNightWeCode··on Claude Fable is relentlessly proactive
No, the problem is mostly the incorrect prompt that sent fable into a rabbit hole resulting in an incorrect solution.
AtNightWeCode··on Claude Fable is relentlessly proactive
But the fix is wrong as pointed out by the poster...
AtNightWeCode··on Claude Fable is relentlessly proactive
Well the solution is incorrect. The problem seems to be that the css code does not normalize to box-sizing: border-box; among other things. The bad prompt by the author probably sent fable into the wrong rabbit hole
AtNightWeCode··on Claude Fable is relentlessly proactive
The fix is incorrect. Clearly this is a sizing issue.
AtNightWeCode··on Google will pay SpaceX $920M per month for compute
2. SpaceX's orbital data centers are profitable.

This will never happen.

AtNightWeCode··on Google will pay SpaceX $920M per month for compute
The same terms Anthropic have today I believe.
AtNightWeCode··on Can the stockmarket swallow Anthropic, SpaceX and OpenAI?
I think it is incorrect to place these corps in the same bucket. The scam here is SPCX. The only reason they are allowed to do this bs is because Nasdaq are greedy and wants this ticker on their stock exchange. The evaluation of SPCX is based on the AI leg. Not rockets, not starlink, AI.
AtNightWeCode··on The newest Instagram “exploit” is the goofiest I've seen
I don't think it is AI. Instagram had a similar issue before. Maybe it still exists. If you ever logged in on a phone you could then use that phone to reset the password.
AtNightWeCode··on The newest Instagram “exploit” is the goofiest I've seen
Sums up the state of Meta right now. Zero f*cks given. A dying corp.
AtNightWeCode··on Claude Opus 4.8
Complete garbage. error, error, error. Still lags several versions behind on API:s. Can't even get any info on the model. Guessing not from this year.

Also. Look at this C++ beauty where it also uses an obsolete api.

instance = wgpuCreateInstance(&instanceDesc);

But just how exactly would this work in any context when instance is never declared.

AtNightWeCode··on Google employee charged with $1M Polymarket insider trading bet on search term
US have wire fraud laws which I believe includes this. But it will be an interesting case to follow. Personally I don't see anything that should be a crime here at all.
AtNightWeCode··on Disagreement among frontier LLMs on real-world fact-checks
Agree. Would be fun to see how much worse Grok would be at this.
AtNightWeCode··on Google employee charged with $1M Polymarket insider trading bet on search term
I believe Polymarket wants it to fall under the regulations of cftc as it is implemented like an option/event contract. And cftc says that they don't care about which technology is used. But as far as I now this is the first case it will be tested for real and the views of cftc and a judge may not be the same. I fail to see how it can be classified as insider trading. But, it is till fraud so I'm not sure how much it matters in the end.
AtNightWeCode··on Google employee charged with $1M Polymarket insider trading bet on search term
How could this be insider trading? Polymarket has nothing to do with financial securities. A bet on Polymarket is like trading any other crypto asset.
AtNightWeCode··on Spain blocks prediction markets Polymarket, Kalshi over lack of gambling licence
Downvotes on HN is always fascinating. Source: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/coinbase-ceo-s-bizar...
AtNightWeCode··on Spain blocks prediction markets Polymarket, Kalshi over lack of gambling licence
It is marketing money so it is not even for arbitrage. And you don't need to provide all the liquidity. Just enough to tilt the result.
AtNightWeCode··on Spain blocks prediction markets Polymarket, Kalshi over lack of gambling licence
The CEO of Coinbase finished an earnings call by reading all the buzzwords you could bet on to be mention during the call. So a CEO can manipulate these things and who knows if it was just a marketing thing or if he shared his plans.
AtNightWeCode··on Spain blocks prediction markets Polymarket, Kalshi over lack of gambling licence
Historically similar services have also been used to try to manipulate the real world by using bets for creating opinions. Like if you get to vote between candidate x and y and x leads by 75% to 25% on Polymarket maybe you don't vote for y even if the real numbers may be way closer.
AtNightWeCode··on Migrating from Go to Rust
Anybody who actually moved a set of services from Go to Rust? I've heard that in practice Rust uses more memory than Go for web services. When I ask LLMs I get the same answer as in the article. A 30-50% reduction but then also claims on how much memory Go uses. Which is about 5-10x more than our average service use.
AtNightWeCode··on Incident Report: May 19, 2026 – GCP Account Suspension
So, what was the reason for the account suspension. Why did it happen? I know Google can be a bit stupid with their automatons but I am bit skeptical here. There are sites more critical than Railway hosted on GCP.
AtNightWeCode··on I’ve joined Anthropic
Hope he can teach Claude how to not be so lame at coding.
AtNightWeCode··on Mullvad exit IPs are surprisingly identifying
Reality check. VPN is the most common fingerprint to begin with. Any small site is never hit with unique users from unique VPN providers.
AtNightWeCode··on Postmortem: TanStack NPM supply-chain compromise
The core issue is that the lang is horrible to get to compile in a reasonable amount of time on a build server. Then since the way it is designed it is bad at caching. That is why you have this "optimistic" caching to begin with.

Our solution is to build everything in Docker. Which is about what you suggest since it does not automatically share cache between branches. But it is slow.

AtNightWeCode··on Mythos Finds a Curl Vulnerability
Should have scanned it with Mythos on an older code base before all these other sec issues was resolved with other tools. Or use the other tools to introduce the same kind of errors in other parts of the code base to see if Mythos would have found it.

A problem is that these tools seems smarter than they are cause they already read seen the answer key.

AtNightWeCode··on Guitar tuner that uses phone accelerometer
Cool. It worked for E and A but it failed for string 1-4. I was surprised that it worked at all.
AtNightWeCode··on Bun's experimental Rust rewrite hits 99.8% test compatibility on Linux x64 glibc
Kinda crazy to use AI to switch from zig to rust in a tool that runs js. Bin bun and use a real lang to begin with. No reason to have that extra layer anymore.
