CodeWithCoffee··on Why don't more people play video games?
Another key factor is that watching TV/movies is a fairly passive activity - whilst you do have to concentrate on what is going on, you don't have to think particularly hard about it.

On the other hand, video gaming can be a fairly active activity (depending on the game) because you far more in control over what is happening and you have to make decisions. For some people, this makes it very dull because they don't find having to think about what they are doing relaxing, whereas for other people watching TV is dull because they aren't doing anything.

CodeWithCoffee··on Programming Language Checklist
If I search for 'go' then I'll get http://golang.org as the second result after the Wikipedia article for the game, however I find that if I'm searching for almost anything to do with Go I'll have to type 'golang' instead, because otherwise Google seems to interpret it as a verb.
CodeWithCoffee··on Apple’s iOS7 Native JavaScript Bridge
I would be interested to know how that whitelist is implemented. I would suspect that the default apps (Safari, Mail, iTunes, etc) are compiled to use a custom implementation of UIWebView that uses JIT (which would completely prevent Chrome from using JIT), but it would be interesting if there is a switch (perhaps by a plist key) that Apple could flip, so a few selected apps could get access without the need to do compile against private libraries.
CodeWithCoffee··on A simple starting point for 2D JavaScript games
Modules. NPM is the largest JavaScript dependency manager, and it is one of the easiest to install (because it comes with Node).
CodeWithCoffee··on About the new iWork for Mac: Features and compatibility
It's also no different to what they've done in the past when they are launching a brand new product; the first iPhone was announced about five months before its release.
CodeWithCoffee··on OpenNote – an open web-based alternative to Microsoft OneNote and EverNote
Probably because of the changes that they made to Skitch 2 - they removed loads of features (which have been slowly added back).

CodeWithCoffee··on Ask HN: Did HN's SSL certificate just change?
I've been having problems getting on the site for the last couple of days - CloudFlare has been throwing a 520 error a lot (in the UK, server is London). Could this be related?
CodeWithCoffee··on AFNetworking 2.0
I've been playing around with it for the part couple of weeks or so since his original announcement and it is really awesome - if you aren't already using it, or you're using AFNetworking 1.x in your apps I highly recommend using 2.0 - the serialization and session stuff has made the API not only more streamlined, but helps create really nice code.
CodeWithCoffee··on Tetra for iOS - my new Letterpress-inspired board game app
I must admit I have done that, however I never really extended it very far. I think I was just trying to animate really complex bar charts really quickly.
CodeWithCoffee··on Tetra for iOS - my new Letterpress-inspired board game app
I think that is probably a sensible way of doing it - it did seem a bit extreme that Letterpress is pure OpenGL. How much do you rely on QuartzCore/Core Animation rather than regular UIKit animation?
