Computer0··on Ripping Off the Hey.com Band-Aid
Oh that's the omarchy guy. Yeah I would not touch anything he has created with a long stick unless there was feces upon the end of it.

Ruby on Rails has needed new leadership for a long time.

Computer0··on Mojang is enforcing "inappropriate" MOTDs even on private whitelisted servers
Everyday new HN users become more removed from the mid 60's and the relevance of the concept of a MOTD. I think a definition is worthy of being considered as 'additive' to the conversation.
Computer0··on Scrap (2006)
I’d say $6 is == ~$5
Computer0··on Kagi added a setting for removing paywalled links from search results
This needs to have a whitelist feature, as I am a paying subscriber to a few well known paywalled news sites that I will use Kagi search to find years old articles. But I would like sites I don't subscribe to to be excluded.
Computer0··on OpenRouter is joining Stripe
Apologies for the misspelling, but I do believe they are offering the same service albeit without many of the closed US models.

Computer0··on Show HN: I trained a 125M model to autocomplete piano on-device
There is no LLM in the ML pipeline provided by the OP.
Computer0··on OpenRouter is joining Stripe
Congratulations to the open router team. Also: Praying for stripes imminent demise.

Eurorouter
Computer0··on OpenRouter is joining Stripe
The open router team was good people with a good product. Hopefully they can move on with their lives
Computer0··on OpenRouter is joining Stripe
With this I am looking to moving my operations to Eurorouter. I am so done with these people (stripe)
Computer0··on Grok 4.6 scores 61 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index
I avoid Grok for meaningful token spend on purpose/boycotting. I do check in via openrouter occasionally to check it's chat performance which has seemed fine to me since 4. My total grok spend has been ~$2. I disagree with his politics to a huge degree.

My token spend at api rates is about $3000 usd a month recently.

Computer0··on Show HN: A marketplace where AI agents buy services from AI agents
A lot of infrastructure around a very narrow demo. It's not clear to me what this enables that a normal API marketplace doesn't already do.

I'm not sure this was ready to show HN unless I am missing something.

Computer0··on Thanks to social media, canned sardines are a scarcity on the supermarket shelf
Then perhaps it would be prudent to act to remove them and seize their capital.
Computer0··on Grok 4.6
Any models available to us that is...

When I last used Cursor their subscription covered usage of ~$20 per month. Have they switched to a subsidized subscription model like ChatGPT and Claude?
Computer0··on Grok Bot
I am unsure if this is the end all be all but it appears preferable to claude code desktop to me.
Computer0··on Manus will return to operating as an independent company
$2 per message is certainly not my experience
Computer0··on How Claude marks AI-generated content
I agree with your reading, I initially misread it.
Computer0··on The Surveillance Network Tracking Cars Across the U.S.
Do you believe the 4th amendment as it is written protects us from this surveillance today? Or that it should be "amended" to do so? Which part of the amendment do you find to be in conflict with Flock and why?
Computer0··on How Claude marks AI-generated content
I would hate to have any of these rules effecting my output
Computer0··on How Claude marks AI-generated content
So this won't be happening in the US, but in the EU:

"When a supported Claude model generates text, it weaves an imperceptible watermark directly into the text itself. You won’t see it, and it doesn’t change the meaning, quality, or readability of Claude’s response.

Because the watermark is part of the text, it will travel with the text when it’s copied and pasted elsewhere, and may persist through some editing. Watermarking will be applied at the model level, which means it will be present no matter which Claude product or surface the text comes from."

Computer0··on Muse Glimmer: 30B-parameter model optimized for always-on local agent workflows
If you are willing and not too busy, What model do you use and what is your cost? (If using subscription would you be able to check with 'npx ccusage').
Computer0··on MegaDev AI Workshop
I do not have positive connotations regarding Theo Browne. Does anyone have any input regarding the others?
Computer0··on 2027 memory capacity is reportedly sold out
I believe the intention is for you to put it in the M.2
Computer0··on Metabase – Please Upgrade Now
I was notified Framework customers were impacted.
Computer0··on Claude Code: Starting August 14, auto mode will be the default permission mode
"Auto mode runs a classifier on every tool call, which uses a small number of extra tokens.

As of today, that classifier overhead no longer counts toward your usage limits on Pro, Max, and Team plans. This change will come to Enterprise plans and API users once auto mode is the default for those users, too"

That seems like a good change if making this the default.

Computer0··on The title cards in Blade Runner are amazing
I found this site [https://fontsinuse.com/] mentioned in the article to be quite interesting to browse through.
Computer0··on Western Sahara
I find the value of this site to be the people. There are insightful discussions about immigration, visas, law, and other news-adjacent topics that have commenters who engage in a way I have not found elsewhere on the internet. I think this site has more value as a highly thoughtful forum space than a technical discussion space.
