Senior Web Developer or "Full stack developer" by today standards, better-know as the "unpopular opinion" on several threads.

The current state of web development makes me sad, mostly because it's all fault of all the die-hard javascript developers, you know what f*ck all javascript/ecmascript/typescript/node developers.

4chan is a shithole without a visible record... reddit on the other hand not only has a record it has meritocratic system aka karma that promotes harassment and internet trolling "just for the lulz and karma"
SadWebDeveloper··on Ask HN: Who else uses adblockers for safety?
NoScript (+ Custom ABE rules for specific websites) + uBlock - Basically all external plugins like Java or Flash with Firefox

NoScript with ABE is pretty much what everyone needs but uBlock is there to block most of the non-JS ads (and save some bw) and from malicious js ads on the allowed ones but without enabling scripts most ads don't even run so basically uBlock is almost doing nothing (in at least a year it only shows 4% of request blocked so almost all the work is done by NoScript).

Still wishing someday to see NoScript on chrome.

by your logic PHP/Hack should be used by everyone because it can handle the site-scale of Facebook...

Everyday amazes me that people actually think that when an a "Big Corporation" announces a new technology adoption they actually believe they rewrite everything for that new technology and don't consider it a PR/SnakeOil/Smokeware movement.

For toy projects and fast prototyping... JS ecosystem looks awesome but for enterprise grade software it looks like: toy for kinder garden developers.

Mostly cause the enterprise love to support legacy software from 5 years ago (your nice webapp won't work that fast on IE8) and requires minimal support for the next 5 to 8 years.

Web Development future looks fragile IMHO.
