Selfcommit··on Nassim Nicholas Taleb: “The math comes first, words later.”
Dawkins has never struck me as being particularly intellectual. The stance he takes on his definition of science often comes across as extreme as many religious fundamentalist perspectives.

Selfcommit··on What happens to your brain when you stop eating sugar
>These are extreme experiments, of course. We humans aren’t depriving ourselves of food for 12 hours and then allowing ourselves to binge on soda and doughnuts at the end of the day.

I guess the author is completely unaware of the lifestyle of many Americans? (Myself included). 12 hours is not a short span at all, when you consider time between going to bed and first meal. Plenty of sugar to be found in all American meal options, doubly so if you add soda to any meal / throughout the day.

Selfcommit··on Why Stack Exchange Doesn't Corral Workers into an Office
They do a nice job of representing why stacks remote / on site policy works. Sometimes being remote is very isolated.

Selfcommit··on F.C.C. Is Expected to Propose Regulating the Internet as a Utility
I suspect the conversations in this thread will be extremely interesting 5 years from now - should this regulation come to pass.
Selfcommit··on Spoofers Keep Markets Honest
I imagine the idea of spoofers could expand to other markets... Would it be crazy to say that things like piracy and knockoff goods keep other competitors honest? (In offering their best, most competitive, product)
Selfcommit··on Warning: Wi-Fi Blocking Is Prohibited
Thanks for that - makes more sense.
Selfcommit··on Warning: Wi-Fi Blocking Is Prohibited
Is this targeted to people who would block residential in home wifi from Comcast and others? That would be disturbing.
Selfcommit··on Millenial Poverty
When does this come to a head, and what does that look like? These questions make me anxious about the future.

Is there not a direct connection between his appointment by Obama and this issue?

Selfcommit··on iPad Air 2
In the past there were different hardware versions of Apple devices for Verizon and everyone else... I'd hate to see a trip back to that.
Selfcommit··on OS X Yosemite
It makes me sad that with all these wonderful changes, Apple still can manage something as basic as differentiating scroll behavior on a mouse from behavior on a touchpad...

Just a heads up - The Regex on the cell phone Number verification was so bad I couldn't create an account. I tried every possible method of entering my number.. couldn't get past the form.

Maybe sometimes you need more than a visual check =)

Selfcommit··on AT&T to Buy DirecTV for $48.5 Billion
I'm just curious if the downvote is because I'm 30 or because I spoke against sports?
Selfcommit··on AT&T to Buy DirecTV for $48.5 Billion
I'll speak for the late 20's Crowd (although I just turned 30..) No one in my age group, that I know, watches sports at home. If they do, they go to the bar to do it.

ESports are MUCH more interesting for at-home watching.

Selfcommit··on DigitalOcean leaks customer data between VMs
Reading your comments in the link, and comments in this thread, I find you to be alarmist at best.

Yes, this issue needs to be raised. No, you can't say that anyone who doesn't agree is a non-factor.

You have the option to scrub your data anytime you like, I've always understood that wasn't the default on DO.
