You can order at No Starch Press: http://www.nostarch.com/automatestuff
Splendor··on The Modern Workforce
Sorry you're being downvoted. It might help if you explain why you disagree.
Splendor··on A QUIC update on Google’s experimental transport
The first image really confused me with the 'Receiver' looking like a server and the 'Sender' looking like a laptop.
Splendor··on Man Says He Can Make 20-Year-Old Rum in 6 Days
I'm sure traditionally aged sprits would remain with luxury-pricing if this took hold, but this is fascinating from a scientific perspective.
Splendor··on Reno Wants to Be Silicon Valley's Back Office
Could you elaborate on Reno's weather? I read the climate section on Reno's Wikipedia page but it's hard to get a good sense of the actual weather.
Splendor··on Ask HN: How do I test that I'm improving as a software developer?
I don't think the point is that you can't be a good programmer unless you understand NP-hard problems (at least I hope so, otherwise I'm in trouble). I think the point is that you can use this matrix as a guide towards improving your knowledge and skills.
Splendor··on Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition
This looks like the perfect laptop for me at this moment. I just worry that a ceiling of 8GB of RAM means it won't be the perfect laptop for me next year. And I'd like my laptop to last me 2-3 years.
Splendor··on Ask HN: How do I test that I'm improving as a software developer?
I use Sijin Joseph's Programmer Competency Matrix[0] as a guide.

Splendor··on Show HN: Kaiwa, a Modern Open-Source XMPP Web Client
> "Combined with Prosody, one of the best XMPP server out there, Kaiwa..."

I think that should say "servers" plural.

Splendor··on Google Moderator is shutting down on June 30, 2015
How do you pronounce the name of your company?
Splendor··on Toggl – Time Tracker
I wish I could see the actual features and UI before signing up.
Splendor··on Can they see my dick pic?
> call your representative and tell him

Or her. ;)

Splendor··on Can they see my dick pic?
I think this is fantastic. I would recommend attributing Edward Snowden for the quotes being used though.

blankslate.io uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.

Splendor··on AirBnB is now available in Cuba
To those downvoting: a short comment explaining why you disagree would be helpful. If I've made a mistake I'd like to know so I don't repeat it. Thanks.
Splendor··on [dead]
Interesting idea, but I think the shirt looks bad aesthetically. Customizing the font, size, and placement of the URL might make this more interesting to me. Also, I made it to the credit card entry point and never saw HTTPS, so I wouldn't complete an order if I was interested in the shirt.
Splendor··on [dead]
One thing to consider is that many rural states poor schools without AP programs. My high school in Idaho had 1 AP program for English and that was it.
Splendor··on AirBnB is now available in Cuba
This title seems to be missing the '(YC 2009)' indicator.
Splendor··on Show HN: Fitbay – A simple way to find out what clothing brands will fit you
Might be great, but I'm not going to sign up just to find out.
Splendor··on Yourbrowser․is – check your customer's web browsing environment in seconds
I like the idea but I think http://supportdetails.com/ has a more pleasing UI.
Splendor··on $149 Chromebooks
Wow. The OLPC XO-1 launched for $188 in 2006. Now we have relatively mainstream retail laptops selling for less than that.
Splendor··on Jupiter Is a Garden of Storms
Sorry if this is a silly question, but does that mean that they don't mix well (like oil and water)?
Splendor··on High Fidelity Music Streaming by Jay Z
Lossless audio streaming appeals to me but I'm not sure I'm willing to pay twice as much for it. I think that the artist exclusives would have to be very compelling for me to switch to Tidal.
Splendor··on Code Keyboards
If I understand correctly, I think that's kind of the idea behind keyboards like the ErgoDox and Atreus. They have multiple "layers" that you can map.
Splendor··on Code Keyboards
Thanks for the suggestion. The design does seem fairly radical, but I think the price is also too high for me to justify giving that one a try.
Splendor··on Code Keyboards
I would really love a mechanical keyboard in the split ergonomic layout of a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic keyboard. Something about that shape feels right to me, but most mechanical keyboard either use a standard layout or something radically different (I'm looking at you Ergodox).
Splendor··on Jupiter Is a Garden of Storms
Thanks for sharing. Reading this made me think about Jupiter as a ball of fluid in a way I hadn't previously. Now I'm wondering why all of Jupiter's colors haven't mixed together.
Splendor··on Amazon Goes After Dropbox, Google, Microsoft with Unlimited Cloud Drive Storage
I would feel better about Amazon's offering if they were more transparent regarding government requests. According to the EFF[0] Amazon doesn't tells users about government data requests or publish transparency reports.

Splendor··on Scientists have discovered a simple way to cook rice that cuts the calories
While simply eating less works for most people I think this is a little dismissive of other factors at work in the obesity epidemic.
