anonfunction··on NanoNeuron – simple JavaScript functions that explain how machines learn
I like this a lot, here's a very simple machine learning perceptron[1] example in Golang:

anonfunction··on Show HN: AI Dungeon 2 – AI-generated text adventure built with 1.5B param GPT-2
I get this error: https://gist.github.com/montanaflynn/98fc85684a52ca021a9509c...

Even after restarting, maybe it's related to the path I've taken.

Also it would be great if you could load a game before choosing adventure type, class and name.

anonfunction··on Ask HN: How do I make the move to consultant?
Not OP but I’d suggest emulating well done open source projects.
anonfunction··on Kuo: Apple to include new scissor switch keyboard in MacBook
There's a good chance you can have the battery replaced as part of the ongoing recall.

The serial number you entered may be eligible for this
program. Please choose one of the service options below.

Choose one of the service options below to have your
battery replaced. In all cases, your device will be
sent to an Apple Repair Center for service. Your MacBook Pro
will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is
eligible for this program. Service may take 1-2 weeks.
It doesn't even tell me if my computer is actually affected, just to lose my work computer for up to two weeks, when it might not even be eligible for replacement.

The only way to get SLA credits is requesting it. This is very disappointing.

anonfunction··on China unveils 600 kph maglev train prototype
US uses mph for miles per hour, so it's natural to use kph.

anonfunction··on Show HN: Tic Tac Toe – Creating Unbeatable AI
Great read, and really impressive!

Sorry to distract but the medium paywall can't be dismissed now? I had to open an incognito window to read your article. Might want to think about moving to another blogging platform.

anonfunction··on Manim – 3Blue1Brown's animation engine for explanatory math videos
Thanks! I think a screenshot or link to a youtube video would be helpful in the README for those of us unfamiliar with 3Blue1Brown.
anonfunction··on Manim – 3Blue1Brown's animation engine for explanatory math videos
Sure, that would be a great thing to include in the README.
anonfunction··on Manim – 3Blue1Brown's animation engine for explanatory math videos
This type of project would really benefit from some examples of the media it produces.

anonfunction··on Launch HN: Point (YC W19) – First Debit Card with Points
Looking at the career section I noticed you're backend stack consists of:

Node.js, Express, GraphQL Yoga, Prisma, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Fargate in AWS.

I'm wondering why you chose JS for a financial services org instead of a language that offers more safety in the sense of types and memory control such as Rust or Go?

anonfunction··on Launch HN: Point (YC W19) – First Debit Card with Points
Can you add that to the website? It's a glaring omission, as I was wondering the same thing.
anonfunction··on A $33K robot barista serves 120 cups of coffee an hour
It would be much more impressive if the robot actually served 120 cups of coffee an hour, to paying customers, rather than it's maximum output.

This robot arm is nothing more than a gimmick, it simply moves a cup from under the actual coffee machine to the customer.

anonfunction··on A $33K robot barista serves 120 cups of coffee an hour
Yeah I used it there as well, it's at The Metreon mall. I was also surprised they had to have an employee next to the thing in case it breaks.

anonfunction··on Show HN: Go statistics library with 100% code coverage and no dependencies
I'm not sure why you think using standardized formulas is incorrect, there are certainly cases to use a mean average. There are other times you may want to use geometric mean, harmonic mean, mode, median, etc... and the library doesn't force anyone to use a specific function for the analysis, it just provides the tools to be used as needed.

Saying this is my high school homework is quite rude, it's a project I've been working on for several years along with several other contributors. It's cloned hundreds of times a day and quite obviously of benefit to many people and organizations.

This library is used as a dependency in many projects like cockroachdb, mongodb, etc... and has a lot of tests to verify it's correct. Not having dependencies ensures that the entire library is well tested and removes the need to track down bugs far down the dependency graph.

anonfunction··on Show HN: The simplest Perceptron you'll ever see, in JavaScript
Really interesting and indeed simple to understand!

I ported it to Golang if you're interested in checking that out:

anonfunction··on De-Suckafying Apple’s Butterfly Keyboard
I’m curious as to what you mean by trolling the thinkpad subreddit. Trolling usually means causing grief, perhaps you meant lurking or browsing?
anonfunction··on Show HN: Statistics library for Golang
Hey HN, it’s been a few years since I created this library package and I’ve recently cleaned up the README, merged some PRs and closed some issues.
anonfunction··on Show HN: I built a puzzle / programming challenge with a 0.125 BTC prize
I got through the first 6 css pixel perfect challenges but got stuck on the last one where I couldn't get the gradients to match.
anonfunction··on Ask HN: Which tool do you use to create beautiful diagrams?
I use Monodraw[1] on my Mac, I really like it because it's ascii rather than image or vector based which makes including the diagrams in markdown really easy.

It also has a really simple UI that allows me to quickly map out my thoughts so I use it for a lot of things.

anonfunction··on Show HN: Kubesail.com – simple, hosted, and free Kubernetes namespaces
Following the instructions of pasting the snippet into `~/.kube/config` I get the following error:

anonfunction··on Just tell me how to use Go Modules
I found it quite easy to set two environment variables and never had issues with `go get` either.
