anonfunction··on Show HN: Code on Hacker News
No I am not. I was interested in if people would click the bottom links and I have got quite a few events so far. I wonder if there is a way I could detect if google analytics is blocked and just fire the window location change.

Edit:

I added a check to make sure google analytics is not blocked, it should work for you now.

Thanks for letting me know.

anonfunction··on Show HN: Code on Hacker News
What browser are you using? I'm using Chrome and they work fine. It's just google analytics event tracking, and I can assure it's not blocked by everyone on HN.
anonfunction··on Show HN: Code on Hacker News
That would definitely be what I was hoping for.

The main problems I had were:

1. The stories endpoints were limited to 200 or 500 results, not paginated.

2. I had to loop over and send a request to all the individual stories to check if the url was from github or gitlab.

3. There was not an endpoint for "show new" (/shownew)

4. It was unclear from the docs what is shown on the website homepage (beststories or topstories?)

anonfunction··on Show HN: Code on Hacker News
Hey HN! I've had this domain forever so finally decided to make a website for it.

I use the HN API to get the stories and then filter out any none code stories. Next up I will add a filter for programming language so you can easily see all the latest projects in your preferred language.

The server is written in Golang and I used nginx with Let's Encrypt for a free SSL certificate.

anonfunction··on Introducing TensorFlow.js: Machine Learning in JavaScript
It does not require CUDA or cuDNN on the client machine, it should work on most GPUs (even mobile) but won't be as performant as CUDA / cuDNN.
anonfunction··on Show HN: Code on Hacker News
Thanks for the feedback, I guess I tried to copy the style exactly except using newer html / css than tables. I'm thinking maybe a chrome extension might be a better choice for this, especially since the API leaves a lot to be desired.

It shows links for both github and gitlab links.

Edit: I changed the logo and favicon from a Y to a C.

In addition to your points I think GM also acted with more integrity in naming the feature. Tesla calling it autopilot is irresponsible and dangerous.

anonfunction··on Show HN: Strftime.guru – automatic strftime format detection from date samples
Oh, it's linked to on the bottom in a way that it looks like it was created by the same person.
anonfunction··on Show HN: My Weekend Project – Automatically determine date format string
Interesting that there is another tool[1] on Show HN right now that does this but for strftime instead of moment.js, I guess I need to build one for Golang's weird time formatting.

anonfunction··on Instacart has raised another $200M at a $4.2B valuation
A few more things instacart does that really bother me:

1. The time slot changes as soon as you click checkout, what I mean is while browsing I'll always see "Available Within 1 hour" then when it actually is time to checkout that option is gone. It happens virtually every time and I've never seen it happen the other way around or happen while shopping and refreshing or going back and forth between shopping and checking out. This leads me to believe it's an intended trick they are using to get people to shop even if the time they want isn't available.

2. They don't provide drivers with any sort of cart to actually deliver the groceries with. One delivery driver had to lug water bottles and other heavy items from down the street where he could find parking into my building and up to my apartment. Amazon Fresh gives their drivers a handcart to help with deliveries.

3. After several orders of mine were never delivered and Instacart offering a $5 credit (after wasting hours of my time waiting for their large delivery window) I had a driver tell me that drivers get to keep orders that are not delivered and sometimes they pick really good orders and say they couldn't be delivered.

I still use them because it's convenient but wish they would treat their users with more integrity and also manage their delivery drivers better by providing supporting tools like a cart or keeping tabs on drivers that may be taking orders for themselves.

Great tool, I see it's by the creator of https://crontab.guru/ which I have used a few times in the past. Thanks!
anonfunction··on Ask HN: Is there an API key generator?
I think OP is talking about generating keys from third party providers. Like generating a key from sendgrid or stripe without going to their website / UI.
anonfunction··on Show HN: LoveNest – find and rate places to date, make out, or have a sexy time
One of the suggestions for a first date in SF is The House Of Air Trampoline Warehouse.

I took a girl there once on a first date, we were having a great time until she took a knee to the mouth and we spent 4 hours at the hospital waiting for some stitches. We ended up dating for awhile and for a few weeks I couldn't kiss her on the mouth because of the stitches.

I hope this project adds more love and joy to the world, good luck!

anonfunction··on Ask HN: What is the market price of a day of CPU?
This is a good reply, and one thing to keep in mind is the profit is for current prices. If they go up and you don't sell then that $1.30 a day could be more like $1,300 a day in a few months or years.
anonfunction··on Ask HN: What is the market price of a day of CPU?
There are too many variables at play, what CPU, what crypto, etc...

Why don't you run a miner on your computer and find out.

If you're paying for your energy and equipment it'll most likely be a negative in terms of profit but would be a fun experiment and espouse a hacker ethos.

anonfunction··on Write dumb code
It's not by the author but Rich Hickey (creator of clojure) has a great talk titled "Simple Made Easy"[1] which I always recommend.

Furthermore I have been using Golang and would say it is very simple language that anyone could pick up and become productive with quickly. One of Go's proverbs is "Clear is better than clever."[2] At the expense of a little verbosity there is much less ambiguity in the intent of code.
