JavaScript, among all the languages out there, is the most ripe for "abuse". It can be used in so many ways, I don't know how you don't use a framework.
Meh. New UIs are a game that we all get to play. It is as much about marketing and sales "and staying fresh" then anything. It is just more distraction so we can ogle our devices from a new perspective. You don't want to get stale now.
That's because Microsoft has now become IBM and what they say or plan to do is now irrelevant. He is the perfect CEO for this stage in Microsoft's journey.
I think that this problem persists beyond individual business owners. There are all kinds of management types out there that love the idea of being in charge, but not any of the hard work involved in actually managing and leading.
Toshiba makes crap. Most Windows-based laptops are. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it still makes more sense to buy a Mac laptop and run Windows on it. Every time a friend or family member asks me what Windows-based laptop to buy, I have to tell them to buy a Mac because of shitty situations like this one.
I will gladly put myself in this camp. I will trade dark matter devs for ones constantly spouting off all the time about their questionable "innovations" and committing themselves to 70 hour work weeks while they create nothing products and disrupt this and that so that...gah I'm already getting bored writing this.
Considering the rate at which they happen with automobiles and the death and injury that result from said accidents, you would think we'd have banned or severely limited personal automobiles by now.
The ownership and operation of motor vehicles is a form of psychosis. We are collectively delusional as a culture with regard to automobiles in North America.
I'll dismiss anything outright that is being used by moronic business-school twits that are using EI as a way to bolster their non-skills and nonsense MBA programs.
"[Goleman] exemplifies more clearly than most the fundamental absurdity of the tendency to class almost any type of behaviour as an 'intelligence'... If these five 'abilities' define 'emotional intelligence', we would expect some evidence that they are highly correlated; Goleman admits that they might be quite uncorrelated, and in any case if we cannot measure them, how do we know they are related? So the whole theory is built on quicksand: there is no sound scientific basis."[1]
What a bunch of drek. Go to engineering school, go to law school, accounting school, hell you want to be a good designer go get a degree in psychology - but whatever you do don't waste a second on a useless business degree. Learn how to actually do something.
I agree with you to some extent, however I think that in many arguments/debates one side can be so clueless and uniformed as to be unworthy of reasoned discussion. This has sadly become the almost default state for many right-wing commentators as they strive for "authenticity" and the analytical, intelligent conservative is left by the wayside.
