codegladiator··on Ask HN: Any lessons learned from running a hacker space
Things that worked: The projects I completed and shipped out/deployed.

Things that didn't work: The projects I kept adding features to.

codegladiator··on Ask HN: Is ProductHunt trustworthy/relevant anymore?
I registered on PH once to post about my product. It made me upvote at least 10 products across a span of 3 days (should be 3 contagious days). You know how I did those.
codegladiator··on Launch HN: Mirror (YC W17) – turn a selfie into emoji that look like you
Looks like something facebook would buy. Do you consider them as competition ?
codegladiator··on Ask HN: How have you successfully simplified your life?
Delete FB, reset phone. Maintain todo list. Keep discussions limited to ideas and opinions. Get a not so nice phone.
codegladiator··on High-Level Problems with Git and How to Fix Them
> I feel like a "language aware" VCS would be able to help a lot in this area.

VCS would have to be much more than "language aware" to even begin to help in this area.

codegladiator··on Ask HN: Disheartening Corporate Life
Pick up a problem in your current company which you can solve and automate. Automate that, get out and sell this to them later and hopefully more companies. Problem could be any "manual process" that's going on which you can fasten up or completely automate.
codegladiator··on Show HN: I just made a webapp that helps young EU people to start a new dream life

Well Done! That's all for you!

We will review your application and we'll send you an email within 3-5 working days containing your full itinerary plan matching best with your criteria.

You will be able to start your dream life straight away by following the email and the TODO list that you will receive.

Good Luck! (and well done for the big step you just did and that most people will never do...)

codegladiator··on Ask HN: Do recruiters lose out by requiring a degree?
If someone with a degree isn't able to cross their interview, what would make then think that someone without a degree would be able to do it ? Why would they risk spending on the interview where they think the candidate has even lesser chance ?
codegladiator··on Ask HN: Are there human friendlier alternatives to Captchas or Google reCAPTCHA?
I close the signup/login if it shows google recaptcha. I don't want to be training their neural networks for free. I will not solve those captchas. Converting book text to text was fine, but i am not selecting which images has cars and which one doesn't.
codegladiator··on Ask HN: Do recruiters lose out by requiring a degree?
There is a huge crowd that has a degree plus whatever experience you have. They don't consider it losing out, because no one would when you would see the sheer number of applicants along with their experience/degree.

codegladiator··on Show HN: Baby Buddy
Knowing something and using that to schedule something are different. The primary value here is knowing what happened.
codegladiator··on Get 100 journalist contacts for launching your startup
Do these people know you are selling their emails ? Also, should I expect a reply from them ?
codegladiator··on How many URLs/Websites are blocked in India? Government gives different answers
There is no free market. They would sell popcorn at 2x the movie ticket cost. And the movie ticket costs are absurd here in karnataka. And its all one player game.
codegladiator··on Remotely tunneling to a server using an iPad Pro for programming
I love to work offline. Sometimes I am most productive when there is no network.

> You can do it from anywhere; you don't need a powerful local machine; controlling what devs do is easier; etc.

I can do that from my mobile too. There is absolutely no comparision with the "powerful local machine". And yes, you do need a powerful local machine, unless you are just writing text.

codegladiator··on Ask HN: What license should I use?
Thanks for the nice overview. Option #2 seems like the way I would want go.
codegladiator··on Ask HN: What license should I use?
How would I be able to earn off it ? I considered the option of "donate something button", but I haven't seen any projects where the developers were able to live comfortably on the donations. Plus donations isn't stable.

Hoping to find balance somewhere.
