devopsproject··on Microsoft will make the most from WannaCry
You are correct. Unfortunately I have seen this sentiment used non-sarcastically. what a time to be alive.
devopsproject··on Microsoft will make the most from WannaCry
The NSA exploits matter because they would be one of the few orgs to have access to multiple zero days. Imagine wannacry paired with a drive by browser exploit.

We already know windows is malware. There is no question: https://web.archive.org/web/20130622044225/http://blogs.comp...

User clicks an email attachment and then it spreads internally. Extremely common.
devopsproject··on Twitter co-founder Biz Stone is returning to the company
Cool name. "The Biz is back, baby"
devopsproject··on My Family’s Slave
He is at least aware that what is happening was not quite right. It is concerning that he cared more about rich friends feelings than the woman sleeping in dirt but there isn't really enough here to label him a sociopath :)
devopsproject··on My Family’s Slave
> because what on earth do you say?

For starters: Why is a woman sleeping on a mat in your kitchen?

you need new friends

if you are too lazy to read the article, don't expect others to do the work for you and give you a synopsis. Do your own work or quietly move on
devopsproject··on Is Trump Getting His News from Reddit?
Is trump reading reddit? No.

Is someone with access to Trump's twitter account reposting shit from reddit? yes

flowery language

The next time your read about a tech or new startup that uses really unnecessary words, come back and visit this thread

devopsproject··on Fluent Design System
It's literally the first sentence

> An eloquent design system for a complex world

It is a set of design guidelines described with flowery language.

devopsproject··on Fluent Design System
It uses ML and AI in the cloud to identify people who don't read the linked article before commenting. It is working brilliantly.

does your camera have an LED? It is supposed to be wired up in a way that the camera cannot be powered up without also turning the led on so you know it is active.
devopsproject··on Border agents threatened to “be dicks”
5-10 minutes seems like enough time to do a full system dump. And definitely enough time to install some malware. Are there any known rootkits or malware for iPhones that can survive a system wipe?
devopsproject··on Border agents threatened to “be dicks,” take my phone if I didn’t unlock it
> laptop unsearched

I'd imagine your phone as much, if not more, info on it than a laptop. Plus it has the ability to track your location and everything bit of data sent and received. And who know what was installed on it.

I'd agree with the two phones, but they phone they "searched" should be thrown into a garbage can

devopsproject··on Etsy has ousted its CEO and is laying off 8 percent of its staff
My wife bought something at a "local artist fair". They didn't even bother to remove the "made in china" sticker.
devopsproject··on Introducing Surface Laptop
> they're back to a plain, old laptop configuration?

why not both?

surface book if you want tablet\convertable

surface laptop if you want a traditional laptop

devopsproject··on Introducing Surface Laptop
> Given the target market (schools)

The target market is students, not schools. They want kids to get a windows computer instead of a mac before they head off to college

devopsproject··on Introducing Surface Laptop
it can all be done through the browser. or on a phone\tablet.

onedrive is a dropbox clone with office integration that makes it really easy to save your documents.

devopsproject··on Introducing Surface Laptop
they said it was the thinnest lcd panel ever built. maybe the savings are in the top?
devopsproject··on Introducing Surface Laptop
> log in and immediately get to work on your report or whatever

office365\onedrive allows this. if your docs are simple, you can do it from your phone or tablet too.

you are correct that you get a "whole" experience with a chromebook which is nice.

> Hyperloops seem more plausible

the vacuum requirements alone make hyperloop an non-starter imo. This type of "fastloop" seems a lot more viable.
