Of course, and it pains me to have to state the obvious for fear of strawmaning, saved the applicable boundaries like distribution of child porn, terrorist groups recruiting pages and so on.
Take Twitter as an example, does an abhorrent job on that, they have no standard other than liked/disliked people.
- They have no transparency, people you follow will get banned and you won't be notified. - People will get banned for tweeting exactly what "liked" people tweeted. - They made the utterly stupid decision of changing the interpretation of their Verified mark from "This is the real person" which is perfect, to "we kind of support whatever this verified person says" which makes no freaking sense. Can you imagine a Bell PR guy saying at a press conference "We are sorry for what one of our landlines customers said on the phone, we turned their line off"?
It is transparent to me that any effort in making platforms like Facebook, Twitter and so on to take the role of speech regulators isn't coming from regular people, it comes to the detriment of the common folk like me and you.
The [Citation Needed] approach would make all comments boringly long and harder to write, all conversations white-paper like, which isn't bad of course, but has its place.
How many times I felt lazy and just dropped my comment because I knew that the [Citation Needed] comments were bound to come, and while I have a good insight about the subject, I had no will to spend more energy on that nor any inclination for taking flak from lazier unconstructive commenters.
> It seems to me rent control and eviction restrictions of this type increases the expected profits for new construction
Zoning and high fees will still be a problem, new units can be rented/sold at a premium but then we have the issue of it being affordable in rent or credit. My guess is that the new rule protects(temporarily) whoever is already in the game, any new comer will still get screwed.

To the point of not being able to sleep for a good part of 2018 due to severe pain, I couldn't lie down in any position or my body would ache terribly. It only got fixed after my wife asked me how much water I drink during the day, I had to think about it and my response was baffling even to me "ehr... one glass?". The sleep issues went away after a couple of days drinking more water.
I would gleefully take a pay cut to have a 35h work week _if my wage still allows me to eat out once 3x a week_, but I will work 40h + commute and feel always exhausted until I get there. See how easy is to fall on that trap.
Sam Harris pics apart one ISIS publication that pushes exactly this point. But of course, I'm talking about ISIS and not your run-of-the-mill Muslim that lives in Britain.
"About one-third of respondents said they would tell the police if they knew someone who was getting involved with supporting terrorism in Syria. The same proportion refused to condemn people who take part in violence against those who mock the Prophet Muhammad. Almost one quarter said they favored replacing the British legal system with Islamic law." - https://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/15/world/europe/poll-british...
"You can see this layer of IPhone 2's here"
Doesn't mean I don't hold a strong view on some subjects, experience has also solidified things that time has shown as essential.
The silver lining is that they might serve as a good cautionary tale for others.
Least I checked society still accept people to choose by their own discretion who they date.
1 - Some people said that this can be a failing of scrum and I 100% agree.
This is the reason people respond with "I've never seen it", it is a natural reaction once something is presented as widespread.
