I work with a typescript project, and the classes of errors that are caught by the TS compiler are not worth the hassle of having to use typescript.

Yes, but if my version only has the features I need. Then it's lighter and most probably faster. Since OS tends to support a smorgasbord of usecases it's more often than not bloated and unnecessarily complex when used.

There's always the overflow flag in the cpu, I don't get why it's not readily available in C when needed.

The things that suck in rails are the views, the asset pipeline and the stupid helper methods for routes that are so complicated for nested routes it's a joke. The database part is actually the good part if you do it right.

Yes python 2 is OK but it's legacy mode and people will move on. I think one of the selling points of python vs ruby is that its so often OK to just use system python(2) versus ruby where you really need to use something like rbenv. Selling point for ruby is that the community is absolutely obsessed with making good tools to facilitate working with it.

Why even adapt for python 3? Nobody uses that stalinist version of python anyway. Its incredibly bad to have to use ifdefs in a scripting language like that. Code should be written so that it works regardless of version.
