just on to the next project :/
zero definition of what that means...
egos of people who just like to say cool words they don't understand
lol
this comment will probably get deleted, but let the action of this comment being deleted stand that in 2024 we're all allowed to use big words with no definition of what they mean -> bad
state actor? who? what motive? what country? all comments involving "state actor" are very broad and strange... i would like people to stop using words that have no meaning, as it really takes away from the overall conversation of what is going on.
i mean you're seriously going to say "state actor playing the long game" to what end? the issue was resolved in 2 hours... this is stupid

EDIT: did some snooping around, Moore himself said it in 2005:
"We have another 10 to 20 years before we reach a fundamental limit."
This is nonsense statement in and of itself. Its like wondering why an orange fails to turn into a chicken.
There are SO many missing pieces an LLM just doesnt have. LLMs could certainly be a small part of some sort of AGI _system_, but they themselves can never be AGI

For now it's still a workaround... looks like I'll be migrating to Hetzner soon...
What? Why would you ever do this? This post screams of "can't see the forest from the trees"
Sure, now you don't have your app crashing, and instead you have this weird state of seeming like you can print but ultimately can't, wasting users time and perhaps frustrating them even more.
Why not literally just show a dialog like "printing is not supported from an Xbox"? Easy to develop, easy to understand... everyone wins.
Totally on your side with this one - but alas, people associate value with complexity.
Do people realize that reproducibility is in no way a signal of factuality? Especially if it's coming from these LLMs.
And have we had ONE, just ONE person from OpenAI / Mistral / Microsoft ever "leak" one of these so called "system prompts"? No. It's mass delusion at it's finest, but I suppose it is entertaining to watch the discussions that resurface approximately every few months.

My goal is to definitely NOT generate the course content itself, but just take the effort out of recording and editing these courses: you provide (or get help generating) the stuff to speak and the code to write and the video is deterministically generated) The eventual vision is to convert book or article style text to generate the steps to generate the video in an as-close-as-possible-to-one-shot.
I also leverage Eleven Lab's voice cloning (technically not an LLM, but impressive ML models nonetheless)
For anyone more curious, I'm wondering if what I'm trying to do is in general a closed problem - to be able to generate step by step instructions to write functional code (including modifications, refactoring, or whatever you might do in an actual software course) or if this truly is something that can't be automated... any resources on the characteristics of coding itself would be awesome! What I'm trying to say is, at the end of the day code in an editor is a state machine - certain characters in a certain order produce certain results. Would love if anyone had more information about the meta of programming itself - abstract syntax trees and work there comes to mind, but I'm not even sure of the question I'm asking yet or trying to clarify at this point.
It's really nothing glamorous.
Keep in mind, at least in the US a "business" is nothing more than a legal and tax entity. Lotta people talking immediately about "your startup will fail!". A "startup" is only one of many ways to do business, and more and more often I find it a smoke and mirrors way of doing things.
I've never seen hard data that certain "formatted prompts" like, "you are a B doing C and need to do D" being any better than any other sorts of clear and concise instructions.
Mind boggling to me that people have created a new name for what used to simply be called good communication skills... though I suppose the eternal stereotype of engineers being poor writers might be more truth than fiction.
only if the people who are hiring you are just as ignorant
AI is just a tailwind for these fantastic companies (regardless of your opinion on how they make the money, they ARE fantastic companies, at least in the brutal capitalistic sense - they make a boat load of money!)
I mean these companies have been going up since the 90s. Obviously the author doesn't understand the geometric nature of markets - especially in the case of market leaders.
Need to spend some more time looking into these go based frameworks, they seem great for quick prototyping
never understood why teams of literally 1 or 2 devs are always forced to try attempt to acheive the visual quality of apps like instagram, whatsapp, etc
However, I can definitely agree with the comments on tools / frameworks though. Don't focus on the "newest thing", just work with what you know you are fastest with.
