how can it be hacked? can i impersonate someone else? whats to stop me from making posts with someone elses handle. how secure is the data? or does it just ride over tls and use that for protection.
just do it is the only way forward. perhaps helped by breaking things up into smaller chunks (pomodoro's perhaps). action precedes and creates motivation.
Why was tupac's comment flagged, it was genuinely funny and also something worthy of discussion. What if big tech are the next nuclear superpowers? Thats a talking point. Censorship on HN seems a little out of control. Then I remind myself its just a forum for a VC company in N America and it all seems to make sense.
They managed to tap in to a seemingly unlimited ocean of uninformed useful idiots, paid shills, bots and psychopaths. Its how you get rich in social media.
Could this feasibly be a case of generative AI used by bad actors to make it look like the model simply hallucinated once discovered. Ofc by then the damage is done. Like a form of trolling.
I love this part: "To make something really different, and not get drawn into the gravity well of existing solutions, you practically need an isolated monastic order of computer engineers"
Same here, I've never done any study of these things other than learning a bit about gradient descent out of interest. But the idea that these networks work as classifiers by figuring out boundary regions was more interesting than I previously believed.
Its fuel for your life goals, lets you think about where, what and how you want to do things for yourself. As opposed to being led along by what other's tell you you want. I'm not a philosopher but this seems like a good reason for why its valuable.
As roer said above "Nobody is trying to argue whether child abuse is a problem or not.". You just built a straw man argument around something that isn't even being discussed.
Nudge the door open with child abuse "concern" and then expand to your hearts content later. The analogy of it being like a police officer standing next to you while you chat online to a friend was great. He was joking when he said "lets cancel cars" but it might happen in the distant future. Letting people control heavy projectiles doesnt seem like such a great idea.
the only place i see any interest in rust is HN or linux kernel lol, while some highly vocal people are raging about rust taking over the world, the rest of the world is moving along without it. just an observation but it seems like a storm in a tea cup.
but just saying this will likely attract an avalanche of downvotes, its like the only things you cant talk about online are anything against rust or the genocide in palestine
The definition under "A Brief Recap" seems incorrect. The sample size doesn't approach infinity, the number of samples does. I'm in a similar situation to the author, I skipped stats, so I could be wrong. Overall great article though.
At least you don't live in australia, where the govt invested in a national broadband network so every aussie could have affordable and fast internet. Guess what we have. A broken cesspool of providers where its going to cost you in excess of $1K p/a to keep a connection to the internet going. Well done straya. Its the same with anything where theres the potential to fleece consumers.
When you really think about how unreal it is to be able to write some commands and automate stuff. Whether its a PC, a machine across the world or some other physical automation, its an entirely new thing for humans to be able to do. It deserves something other than just being functional and fiscally rational. Artistry should come into it somehow. Whats the point and wheres the enjoyment otherwise. Coming up with ways to preserve your art is definitely a worthy goal, and fear that someone will come along and buy it (or some other disaster) and deprive you of your art is fair enough.
Interesting, I think this is a good choice too if you want cross platform and to avoid potential future geopolitical issues that may crop up given the way the world is going.
