kccoder··on Noem Can't Explain Why She Hired 8-Day-Old Company for Ad Campaign
Impeaching without conviction won't do jack. We need 67 senators to convict. I honestly don't know what it would take for that many rep senators to vote to convict.
kccoder··on SCOTUS rules USPS can't be sued, even when mail is intentionally not delivered
> Justice Clarence Thomas, writing for a majority of five conservative justices, said the federal law that generally shields the Postal Service from lawsuits over missing, lost and undelivered mail includes “the intentional nondelivery of mail.”

Sooooo the entire postal service could just decide to not deliver any mail at all and that's a-okay? How about stealing the contents of mail and keeping/selling them? How about opening mail and stealing valuable information and then not delivering it? How about deliberately not delivering mail ballots to/fro the voter (this is the real real this is happening, and destroying USPS)?

kccoder··on Trump's global tariffs struck down by US Supreme Court
Presumably you're not a admin cabinet member or related to one or have inside info from those in the cabinet, which is the key differentiator.
kccoder··on White House launches direct-to-consumer drug site TrumpRx
That won’t matter. Hypocrisy is a given.
kccoder··on White House launches direct-to-consumer drug site TrumpRx
The correct default position with this admin is bad faith and/or malice.

If you were developing this site wouldn’t you just develop a formula to calculate the discount? Hate to that’s a typo unless you didn’t do any testing.

Luckily we are able to tos\ spot lazy bs here.

kccoder··on US Justice Department releasing more than three million pages from Epstein files
This document is full of all kinds of vile behavior by several men, including Trump (forced oral and penetration on 13-14 yo girls, ...). Hopefully this file was widely downloaded because this file no longer exists on the site.
kccoder··on Tesla ending Models S and X production
> I wouldn’t be too surprised if robotaxi replaces 90% of taxis and Ubers in the next 5-7 years

I'd bet a kidney that doesn't happen.

kccoder··on Tesla ending Models S and X production
He didn't specify the year.
kccoder··on Tesla ending Models S and X production
Also, if you compare the entire model line up sales, Tesla isn't even in the top ten in sales. Tesla could disappear entirely and the car industry wouldn't even notice.
kccoder··on Tesla kills Autopilot, locks lane-keeping behind $99/month fee
I'm going to go with the fool being followed. At least the following fool realizes that they need guidance, but just chose the wrong leader.
kccoder··on DOGE improperly accessed and shared Social Security data
> but regardless we shouldn't be trying imply that intending to overturn elections in cases of fraud is bad in and of itself

The only rational viewpoint is to assume everything this administration does is in bad faith, until proven otherwise.

kccoder··on U.S. Formally Withdraws from World Health Organization
The voluntary rapid disassembly of the world’s largest superpower, which is home to most large tech companies, seems very relevant, even without the tech component. I mean how often do you get to witness something like this?
kccoder··on Bluementhals letter about ICE memo justifying entry into homes without warrant [pdf]
Morals, ethics, empathy, humanity, …
kccoder··on Tech workers ask their bosses to pressure Trump over ICE crackdowns
But not as unhealthy as the actions accurately described by the “rhetoric”.
kccoder··on Canada Announces Divorce from America
Sure, but as has been demonstrated lately, some are more unfit than others. If you replaced Trump with Romney or Obama or some other equally capable, sane person, our situation would be immeasurably improved.
kccoder··on 'This is sell America' – US dollar tumbles as globe flees US assets
I think you can only vouch for dead posts???
kccoder··on Donald Trump links threats to seize Greenland to Nobel Prize snub in letter
> Too many people dismiss all of his ideas blindly

The unibomber had some good ideas, doesn’t mean he should be president.

kccoder··on Trump's Letter to Norway Should Be the Last Straw
There have been so many “should be the last straw” moments, don’t see why this’ll be any different. Our government isn’t going to save us. We’re going to have to save ourselves.
kccoder··on Trump's Letter to Norway Should Be the Last Straw
Fox News, among others, is a Republican mouthpiece. They rarely report anything that makes Trump look bad.
kccoder··on US Places Arctic Airborne Troops on Standby as Greenland Dispute Escalates
More often than not the opposite of what Trump says is closer to the truth.
kccoder··on Trump to impose tariffs on European nations over Greenland
Some voted for him for that reason, some for other reasons d. For example, I’ve heard several women voted for him because he said he’d make ivf more available/affordable.

The bigger question is why would anyone believe anything he says, especially if it was going to benefit regular people.

kccoder··on EU Set to Halt US Trade Deal over Trump's New Tariff Threat
Good. Seems like Trump pissing off the rich people in this country would be the fastest way to dump this entire admin.
kccoder··on Minnesota is under siege. This cannot stand
> tens of millions of illegal immigrants

Any chance you have a source for that? Based on everything I'm seeing there were at most a 5M increase in illegal immigrants under Biden. Which is way too many, but doesn't justify the extreme measures this administration is taking, harassing, shooting, obstructing the lives and livelihood of the entire city of Minneapolis. You mentioned the lack of fanfare around Obama's deportations...how many US citizens were killed as part of that operation? Were they going door-to-door asking for people's papers, were they abducting US citizen teenagers from their jobs, then dumping them willy-nilly? It is ABSURD to claim that this administrations actions are justified.

I deeply hope that you are able to develop some empathy and reduce the anger you clearly harbor.

kccoder··on ICE takes back into custody man released for violation of rights
The GF and I have had multiple conversations about how all these seemingly intelligent people don't: 1) care about anybody else; 2) realize that this too will negatively affect their lives; and I've come to the conclusion that these people are devoid of empathy, and they are narcissists who view themselves as being too important and powerful to be messed with. They'd never do that to me! That would never happen to me!
kccoder··on ICE takes back into custody man released for violation of rights
Sadly, it seems clear at this point it is going to fall to the citizens of these states united to hold them to account.
kccoder··on Ford F-150 Lightning outsold the Cybertruck and was then canceled for poor sales
The Toyota Rav4 outsold the Model Y in 2025. Toyota led all brands worldwide with 10.3 million cars sold by November. Tesla which sold 1.64 million, didn't make the cut for top ten brands.
kccoder··on macOS 26's Cut Corners
> there's no new features that interest me

Precisely! Can’t recall the last time they added a feature I wanted, so I just stick with the oldest version that is still supported. Upgrading is more likely to break things than provide anything I actually need.

kccoder··on X Didn't Fix Grok's 'Undressing' Problem. It Just Makes People Pay for It
You can’t trust nor take anything Elon says as factual or indicative of his desires.

Recent evidence and behaviors trump past behavior.

kccoder··on X Didn't Fix Grok's 'Undressing' Problem. It Just Makes People Pay for It
> it’s not hacker news…

It’s not, but they could fix the issue by raising the flagging threshold for Musk-related posts.

kccoder··on Statement from Jerome Powell
> I wonder if the Democrats didn't delay prosecution until late 2023/early 2024 in order to have it be a headwind against Trump running again.

I think they didn't realize the moment the country was in. They put a judge in charge of the justice department when we needed a bull-dog prosecutor. It was a bad choice.
