There is a vast difference between number of likes and actual people talking about product(which matters) . In most cases followers on twitters and likes on facebook are some random user profile which can't correlate with your industry specific product and large number of such profiles look fake. I won't recommend concentrating on likes and followers but it's the engagement which actually matters .
Good to see Indian start-up making the mark here, perhaps it will remove the stereotype most startups face from investors and potential acquirers as they are based out of India
I think its more about filling pockets by charging registration fees. One should try out for only IEEE conferences although it is not necessary but "International" in the title really does not make a conference "International"
>"People read the airbrushed versions of Google technologies in talks and academic papers and think that Google has some amazingly large computer lab with amazingly powerful technology."
Latest acquisition of "Boston Dynamics" and team working at "Google X" and other projects lead to second thought . In the end it's choice of people , we should not have say in what they should or shouldn't.
With respect to ideas in start-up phase , I think if it's your idea , you will pursue it more passionately as compared to others . Idea can struck to anyone , wonder out of billions of people around how many are pursuing similar ideas ? It's the one who do it in right way and right time makes it big.
article refer to famous political figure of ex-ruling party(INC) in Delhi , a person who challenged Arvind Kejriwal 1 year ago to come into politics and win , Arvind did win his first election . No one give ears to such speech and articles of such politician(Kapil Sibbal) .
Its just like crowd funded start-up who even stopped asking for funds when he had enough to fight for elections. Lot of Indians in India and other countries did help in donations. He was fighting from people's money for the people of the country . Fought election for first time and that too against veteran 15 year term serving chief minister and won.
He belongs to state X(Haryana) and lives in state Y(U.P) and challenges 3 term chief minister of the Z(New Delhi) and wins . Political hack it is , sounds like proxies and socks in use.
Tried neo4j , and I find it handy using python and py2neo . Since my laptop is limited in memory , I couldn't visualize graphs properly from web interface.
I found out , problem is our submission rights have been taken , it might be due to reposting and deleting stories, or might be due to posting irrelevant material which is of no relevance to HN community .
But I recently posted a poll 3 days back which got 70 upvotes and it came on first page (top 10). Surprising is that I can't see [dead] alongside my post when i see my submission history
Hey , today it happened as I wrote title and and link but didn't click submit button, by the time it was dead. I clicked "back" in the browser and submitted again , it was dead for 3-4 times and 5th time it got posted.
I think when you want to post new story you should not wait too long (>10 minutes) to click submit button or else it will be dead

I pay tax in India but I am happy for this mission but it causes more pain when my money goes into the pockets of corrupt politicians. It's not the country which is poor, it's the corrupt politicians and bureaucracy. Refer to list of Indian scams : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_scandals_in_India , now annual scam every year is worth $20 billion , I wonder why people are not criticizing the administration and corruption but ISRO.
