patch_cable··on Ask HN: How to overcome fear of flying?
X-plane is an excellent choice. It has a pretty generous demo and also works on Linux.
patch_cable··on Prime Down: Amazon’s sale day turns into fail day
Another bar raiser here. That site is wrong. The expectation is 2 candidates a week. And it would be more proper to say that it is part of your full-time job, not on top of it.

10 candidates in a week may happen at some kind of event, but then it isn’t 2-3 hours per candidate, and in that case you’d effectively be taking a couple of days off from your normal job.

patch_cable··on Ask HN: What are the smartest people you know working on?
Studying comparative literature
patch_cable··on Working at Amazon
Teams are generally 4 to 8 people. At Amazon you frequently hear the term "two-pizza team", meaning the team can be fed with two large pizzas. That's the size they usually target.

Google offered classes in Seattle when I interviewed with them.

My reaction was the same as yours.

For a private pilot, unless the passengers share a common purpose for travel with the pilot, money isn't allowed to change hands, even if it is just "for fuel".

You would need at least a commercial pilot license for this type of transaction. (A CPL is a lesser license than an airline transport pilot license, which is what you need to work for an airline. The former only requires 100 hours of time.)
